Close o the facility I needed to use; clean; friendly staff
The Internet access is poor for such a major chain. Most small hotels now have free wireless in room. Holiday Inn charges an exorbitant amount for in-room wireless, including the fact that the clock keeps ticking, even if you're not using. Hi needs to get up to speed with the ttimes
Front door buzzer that didnt work (leaving us outside being un-noticed by staff who were clearly inside but couldnt hear us) puddle on carpet under aircon which was trodden in at 3am on a toilet visit! no brown sugar for coffee in the room
The location is very convenient. The bedrooms are well designed and very clean. The signage to the hotel is good and the car park is spacious. Following a fire alarm, the reaction of the staff to this situation was very good and if the fire had been genuine, everyone would have been safe.
We arrived quite late and were advised that the only food available was sandwiches - if there was any bread left in the kitchen - or take aways. There is in fact a restaurant next door that could have provided us with a full meal if we had gone there straightaway. We were also informed that there was a large party booked for breakfast at 8am the following morning, but we werent expecting the extremely untidy breakfast area. We have visited many hotels with buffets but there seemed to be no positive effort to clear tables and the buffet areas - including egg that had been spilt on the floor. We appreciate that the hotel was very full but presumably this wasnt unexpected and there didnt appear to be a duty manager supervising the staff. We were disappointed by this experience, and on balance would not probably recommend a Holiday Inn Express to friends and family for any longer than an overnight stop.
The hotel provided an excellant overnight stopover for a very early flight from Exeter airport which is just over five minutes drive away.
The room was very clean and the staff very helpfull.
The air conditioning was very load, had to take the card out to get some sleep.
The staff were great - friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and clean, and we had no problem sleeping.
The carpark entrance/exit wasn't very clearly signed. Breakfast was the standard buffet fare, but with quite limited choice - more choice would have been better (but that's being pretty picky, if I'm honest!).
Comfortable, friendly, plenty of parking, excellent value, convenient for excellent pub food next door, easy to serve yourself buffet style breakfast.
No bacon for breakfast on either day otherwise no complaints
Value for money. Convenient access. Clean. Easy check in and check out. Great little bar/restaurant 2 mins from hotel.
Limited healthy options at breakfast.
Same as any other hie in the uk
The fact that the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work and also the location of the air con/heater, above a bed is really a stupid location for a decent nights sleep. It also was temperamental and slow to function - reported to reception when we checked out.
Very clean and tidy accommodation Easy check in with friendly helpful staff. However the bed had a massive lump in it just where I laid. I did point this out to staff in the am. It was Room 107
We really enjoyed our stay, everybody was so helpful the location was great and the hotel very clean..
We would have liked warm plates for the cooked breakfast if possible.
clean, comfortable and quite at night. convienient pub across car park serving very good meals.
Very convenient, as working @ Met Office, which is only 5 minutes away.
Very old TV in room - needs upgrading to modern flat TV's.
excellent friendly welcome and good location
Very clean and the room was really quite. Enjoyed the breakfast.
Air condition was noisey, turned it off during the night.
